About the position

The Distribution Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing a crew of linemen engaged in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution lines and equipment. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of linemen, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Develop and implement work plans for distribution line construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, conducting regular safety inspections.
• Perform routine maintenance on distribution lines, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
• Locate and repair faults in the distribution system, such as downed lines and equipment failures.
• Work with underground cables, including installation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Interact with customers to address their electrical service needs and concerns.
• Respond to power outages and other emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical distribution.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid commercial driver's license and medical card.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory and distribution systems.
• Completion of a recognized lineman apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication, positive attitude, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Journeyman lineman certification (recommended but not required).
• OSHA 30 Card (recommended but not required).
