Distribution Line EIT 2

About the position

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an EIT 2 to join their Distribution group in the Pittsburgh, PA office. The role involves designing and permitting distribution lines, utilizing various software for electrical distribution designs, and conducting field visits. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication abilities, to effectively work within design teams and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and permit distribution lines, including drawing preparation and bill of materials development.
• Conduct field visits to gather information for creating drawings.
• Utilize software to create overhead and underground electrical distribution designs.
• Follow local utility and construction standards in design work.
• Learn and apply on-the-job training effectively.
• Work collaboratively in design teams and manage personal tasks to meet deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained EIT certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in design and permitting of distribution lines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CADD work and permit applications.
• Familiarity with material testing and report writing.
