We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Distribution Manager (2nd Shift) in Waco, TX. The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters). Responsibilities
- Making workflow decisions under the direction of management.
- Improving service levels and costs for distribution center operations.
- Supervising and motivating distribution center employees through effective coaching and training.
- Maintaining a positive distribution center working environment.
- Implementing productivity, quality, and service standards.
- Resolving problems and identifying areas for improvements.
- Contributing performance data to strategic plans and reviews.
- Ensuring all equipment receives preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Adhering to requirements and procedures for safety regulations.
Requirements
- Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements.
- Ability to apply knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
- Knowledge of coaching and mentoring concepts and methods.
- Ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals in learning and improving effectiveness.
- Knowledge of leadership practices and processes.
- Ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
- Knowledge of the policies, processes and systems of warehouse management.
- Ability to effectively manage one or more warehouses or distribution centers.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree or past experience in a Distribution Center environment.
- Prior management or supervision experience.
