About the position

The Distribution Manager is responsible for motivating and training the carrier force to ensure excellent service delivery while achieving circulation and collection goals. This role involves overseeing distribution center operations, ensuring timely delivery to subscribers, addressing customer service issues, and managing carrier recruitment and training to maximize success.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and train carrier force to provide good service.
• Assist in maintaining overall distribution center operations.
• Achieve consistent, proper, and on-time delivery to subscribers.
• Handle customer problems and service requests to satisfaction.
• Contact 'stop' customers to save their accounts.
• Work with carriers to meet collection goals and resolve problems.
• Collect payments from carriers and customers for open routes.
• Recruit, train, and manage carriers for success.

Requirements

• Must be in generally good physical condition.
• Free of leg and back medical conditions.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to bend and stoop to lift bundles.
• Ability to push and pull carts of papers weighing over 1,000 lbs.
• Ability to walk with 30 lbs. in each hand to move bundles of papers.
• Assist with unloading trucks with up to 4,000 bundles of papers daily.
• Handle delivery of open routes, including getting in and out of the car and walking up to 3-4 flights of steps.
• Ability to stand on concrete floors for 2-3 hours at a time.
• Good reading skills for addresses and maps.
• Good oral communication skills and command of the English language.
• Computer skills and ability to operate a smartphone.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
