About the position

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Distribution Operations Coordinator to assist in the daily operations and services provided by the supply distribution operation at Missouri Baptist Hospital. This role is crucial in ensuring that the supply chain management is effective and efficient, which is vital for the long-term success of the organization. The Distribution Operations Coordinator will work from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and will be responsible for identifying staffing constraints, coordinating workloads, and managing assignments within the department. The position requires a functional expert in inventory management and resource management systems, such as Wavemark, Atpar, FLICS, and PeopleSoft. The coordinator will manage all par locations across the enterprise and ensure that standard work practices are communicated and adhered to throughout the system. This role also involves performing service audits, participating in customer service recovery, and providing general oversight of departmental operations. In the absence of the supervisor, the coordinator will serve as the charge person, representing the department in various supply distribution efforts and initiatives. Additionally, the Distribution Operations Coordinator will maintain expertise in current and new technologies for managing inventory levels within the hospital, sharing best practices with peers across the system. The coordinator will support and determine daily un-fill rates for supply availability, working closely with purchasing, sourcing, utilization management, and vendors to ensure that primary or alternative supplies are available to support clinicians and patients. The role also includes coordinating the design, layout, and implementation of new par locations, including setup, item maintenance, and reporting for hospital renovations, new facilities, and operational changes.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Management experience is not required
  • Proficiency in PeopleSoft and inventory management systems.

Nice-to-haves
