About the position

As a Distribution Operations Specialist - Intermediate at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunity. This position is integral to the support of the INSCOM Army, where you will be at the forefront of innovation, enhancing the systems that matter most to the Department of Defense (DoD). Your responsibilities will include managing property book requirements, developing and modifying procedures, and ensuring compliance with IT goals and projects. You will be tasked with training both internal and external customers on various processes and software applications, conducting internal audits, and developing corrective action plans as necessary. In this role, you will negotiate supplier agreements and service contracts, manage capital procurement processes, and lead process improvement teams. You will coordinate workflow and material movement to meet program and customer delivery requirements, ensuring the effective ordering, receipt, delivery, and disposal of IT equipment and supplies. This includes maintaining positive control of delivered items, registering orders in appropriate databases, notifying customers of equipment receipt, and scheduling installations. You will also be responsible for maintaining the organization's IT Systems hardware and software asset inventory in the Government's prescribed Configuration Management Databases (CMDB), ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. Your role will require you to document, manage, and maintain the organization's IT System hardware baseline and software configuration library. You will oversee the transportation of classified and unclassified intelligence IT equipment, ensuring adherence to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and managing customs issues for worldwide transportation of IT materials. This position is essential for supporting the organization's logistics activities and ensuring that all operations align with the strategic goals of the DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Review, develop, modify, and test procedures and systems requirements to manage property book requirements supporting DoD Enterprise infrastructure.
  • Train internal and external customers on procedures, processes, and software applications.
  • Conduct internal audits and develop/review corrective action plans.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements and service contracts as required.
  • Manage capital procurement processes.
  • Lead process improvement teams and coordinate workflow and material movement to meet delivery requirements.
  • Support business processes for ordering, receipt, delivery, and disposal of IT equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain the organization's IT Systems hardware and software asset inventory in the CMDB with at least 95% accuracy.
  • Document, manage, and maintain the organization's IT System hardware baseline and software configuration library.
  • Provide weekly documentation confirming reconciliation of warehouse, procurement, logistics, and asset management activities.
  • Manage and oversee transportation of classified and unclassified intelligence IT equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with ITAR.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience in logistics or IT systems management.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience.
  • GCSS (Global Combat Support System) knowledge/experience is required.
  • TS/SCI security clearance is required; candidates must be willing to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification is required prior to support on contract.
