About the position

The Distribution Purchasing Manager is responsible for acquiring essential supplies critical to the success of business operations, particularly in the electromechanical market. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong negotiation skills to maintain profitable relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of quality goods.

Responsibilities

  • Entering purchase orders and submitting them to suppliers.
  • Assessing supplier profiles and analyzing quote offers.
  • Preparing and implementing effective negotiation tactics.
  • Managing key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with contract terms.
  • Reviewing supplies to ensure quality.
  • Monitoring stock levels.
  • Keeping vendor records updated.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' experience in general purchasing experience in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g., Syteline, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong analytical mindset.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the defense industry is a plus.
