About the position
The Distribution Purchasing Manager is responsible for acquiring essential supplies critical to the success of business operations, particularly in the electromechanical market. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong negotiation skills to maintain profitable relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of quality goods.
Responsibilities
- Entering purchase orders and submitting them to suppliers.
- Assessing supplier profiles and analyzing quote offers.
- Preparing and implementing effective negotiation tactics.
- Managing key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance with contract terms.
- Reviewing supplies to ensure quality.
- Monitoring stock levels.
- Keeping vendor records updated.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience in general purchasing experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions.
- Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing best practices.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g., Syteline, Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong analytical mindset.
- Outstanding organizational skills.

- Experience in the defense industry is a plus.
