About the position

The Distribution & Revenue Analyst at Sonesta NYC plays a crucial role in optimizing revenue for designated properties by managing distribution channels, analyzing sales trends, and implementing inventory controls. This position supports the revenue management team in achieving revenue goals and enhancing market share through effective rate positioning and promotional strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire rate loading process for negotiated accounts ensuring rates are visible and bookable in all appropriate channels
  • Responsible for loading sales and marketing promotions and offers and continuously work with the teams to ensure sell strategies are in place
  • Assist various teams in troubleshooting rate and content issues
  • Conduct quarterly audit of the CRS, run various data reports, analyze data and adjust as needed
  • Assist in any NYC distribution projects and corporate distribution initiatives
  • Assist with NYC business travel sales and reservation process as needed
  • Support revenue management and distribution team goals and strategies
  • Review and analyze market and competitive intelligence on a regular basis
  • Create analytical adhoc reports as directed by the Area Director of Revenue(s) providing in-depth, targeted, information
  • Provide analytical research documents and reports in supporting your hotels strategic ideation process
  • Complete projects in conjunction with hotels and regional needs as assigned by Area Director(s) or Regional Director of Revenue
  • Review all reports for 100% accuracy prior to general release
  • Maintain technical expertise on all relative components of IdeaS, SynXis, Opera, Excel and other tools
  • Support other areas of revenue, reservations, sales, operations, and marketing as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but some college and related experience will be considered
  • At least 1 year experience in distribution, sales or revenue management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NYC markets and trends
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of all reservations systems
  • Able to create, implement and analyze manual and automated reports
  • Comprehensive knowledge of management strategies and techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical and managerial applications of Outlook, Opera PMS, SynXis, Microsoft Office, and other appropriate PC applications
  • Microsoft Office knowledge must be advanced in Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Operational knowledge of GDS, and third-party internet distribution
  • Ability to compute and comprehend basic revenue statistics RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, LOS, etc.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze a STR report, Demand360 report, Pickup Report, etc.
