About the position

The Distribution Sales Support function is responsible for various tasks to support the distribution sales team and optimize distributor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist distribution sales team by providing essential support for effective sales operations.
• Prepare customer quotes, leveraging knowledge of market economics to ensure profitability and drive decision-making to win business.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive customer relationships and aid with business retention efforts as needed.
• Assist with RFI and RFQ completion from distributors.
• Coordinate sample requests and manage drawing requests as needed.
• Utilize various systems such as the Quote System/CRM to optimize account management.

Requirements

• 1-3 years in a similar position
• Experience in direct sales or a customer service role with demonstrated track record of success for building relationships (rigid plastics a plus)
• Ability to identify and communicate value proposition and create customer alignment
• Ability to work effectively across various business functions and disciplines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PP)
• Strong/flexible communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with peers and senior leadership
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment
• Must be able to use independent judgement and think critically

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field
• Existing relationships with key packaging/container distributors are a plus (includes NACD)
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
• Understanding of the packaging distribution supply channel
