About the position

The Distribution Specialist I at Abbott Laboratories is responsible for performing manual and clerical duties related to the movement of materials within the Abbott Vascular Diagnostics division. This role involves filling customer orders, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures. The position is essential for maintaining efficient distribution operations and supporting the overall supply chain process.

Responsibilities

• Pull finished goods parts from bins using a pick list and possibly a radio-frequency device to fill customer orders.
• Enter orders into the computer database using a bar code scanner.
• Package orders according to specifications and prepare them for labeling and distribution.
• Type pertinent information into shipping software to generate printed labels for product shipment.
• Examine shipment containers for damage and verify the accuracy of packing slips and invoices.
• Enter material information into the business computer system and generate receipt travelers for material traceability.
• Transport materials using a fork-lift, pallet jack, or truck as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

• Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.
