About the position

The Distribution Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the department by performing various distribution-related activities. This position involves handling payroll checks, collaborating with other departments, and training junior associates, all while ensuring that departmental processes are followed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Print payroll checks and reports according to standard departmental procedures.
  • Print other customer requested jobs on an as-needed basis.
  • Separate and sort client payroll.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure day-to-day payroll needs are met.
  • Manage payroll tracking and delivery method changes.
  • Train Associate level members on basic distribution practices and procedures.
  • Perform packaging and stuffing tasks as required.
  • Support other team members in managing departmental responsibilities.
  • Inspect printed payroll checks and prepare them for pickup or delivery.
  • Exercise good judgment in performing duties.
  • Perform various other duties, including printer cleaning and report printing.
  • Maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work extended hours on short notice.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding questions or problems.
  • Understand departmental processes and be accountable for individual work.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and accurately follow detailed directions on printed materials.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision on established assignments.
  • Recommended 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of distribution practices and procedures.
  • General familiarity with basic PC operations, including software, hardware, Windows, and DOS commands.
  • Ability to meet and exceed departmental deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative regarding workload and departmental processes.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, standing, stooping, and bending throughout the workday.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
