About the position

As a District Asset Protection Manager at Burlington Stores, you will play a crucial role in advancing the company's asset protection career within one of the largest and fastest-growing off-price retailers in the nation. This position requires a seasoned Asset Protection Manager with strong leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a high-energy retail environment. You will be responsible for developing, directing, and leading the implementation of the company's Asset Protection, Shortage Control, and Safety programs across all markets in your region. Your leadership will ensure that safety and security standards are consistently met, safeguarding our customers, associates, merchandise, and physical structures. In this role, you will train and oversee store management and shortage control associates to ensure the proper execution of company policies and procedures. You will manage the investigation of all asset protection incidents, proactively developing strategies to reduce incidents and associated financial losses. Your ability to prioritize quickly and think on your feet will be essential in this fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for developing competency in internal and external investigations, auditing, shortage reduction programs, and system controls. This includes managing shortage control staffing for all store locations in the region, conducting and managing internal and external investigations, and maintaining physical security controls and systems for all assigned locations. Building strong relationships with law enforcement and legal professionals will be key to successfully interfacing on criminal and civil matters. Your contributions will help shape the Asset Protection program and ensure that training and awareness programs for store teams are effectively managed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop competency in internal and external investigations, auditing, shortage reduction programs and system controls.
  • Manage shortage control staffing for all store locations in the region, including managing payroll and expense to plan.
  • Conduct and manage internal and external investigations, internal investigation interviewing, external apprehension programs, audits, shortage reduction programs and system controls.
  • Work closely with District and Store Management, Human Resources, Legal, Operations and Control on all relevant Asset Protection and Shortage Control matters.
  • Monitor and maintain physical security controls and systems for all assigned locations including CCTV, burglar and fire alarms, electronic article surveillance and emergency systems.
  • Contribute to the development of Asset Protection program, provide direction and leadership in initiating these new programs and manage training and awareness program for store teams.
  • Audit the Financial, Merchandising and Operations divisions of assigned locations and provide focused and actionable analysis of results.
  • Build strong relationships with law enforcement and legal professionals to successfully interface with these partners on criminal and civil matters.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of Retail Asset Protection experience, including District/District Management experience.
  • Familiarity with asset protection programs and software including Exception Based Reporting (Appriss/Secure) and Case Management (SalesForce/Think LP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Experience conducting internal investigation interviews and managing external apprehension programs with proven ability to successfully resolve incidents is required.
  • Ability to travel to all markets within designated district.
