The District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) at JCPenney is responsible for leading Asset Protection programs and training across assigned districts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This role is pivotal in driving sales, profit, and fostering a customer service culture within the organization. The DAPM will communicate shrinkage awareness and reduction strategies to store and Asset Protection teams, ensuring that these strategies are effectively executed. Regular follow-ups will be conducted to assess compliance with Asset Protection directives, and the DAPM will manage performance through talent and succession planning, coaching, and developmental conversations with direct reports. In addition to team development, the DAPM will oversee the execution of Asset Protection programs, providing leadership and guidance to teams and General Managers. This includes reviewing operational execution of shrink programs, physical security standards, and compliance with company policies. The DAPM will analyze Asset Protection metrics to identify unfavorable trends and implement appropriate actions to prevent losses. Regular store visits will be conducted to coach and train associates, assess performance, and ensure high levels of execution and compliance with shrink action plans. The DAPM will also play a critical role in investigations, ensuring timely responses to issues of safety, theft, and fraud. This includes overseeing internal investigations, maintaining relationships with local law enforcement, and ensuring that all documentation is in accordance with company policies. Furthermore, the DAPM will review the execution of safety programs and respond to critical incidents, providing necessary communication and support for remediation efforts. This position requires a strong focus on accountability, critical thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement to build a diverse and high-performing team.
