About the position

The District Collaboration Teacher at Center for Family Services' Mosaic Early Learning Program is responsible for overseeing and providing developmentally appropriate activities and instruction to students in a School District Partnership classroom. This role involves maintaining a positive classroom environment, supervising staff and volunteers, and engaging families in the educational process. The teacher will implement a comprehensive early childhood development curriculum in alignment with Mosaic Early Learning Performance Standards and collaborate with the School District.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide learning opportunities to students that support their development in all areas.
  • Follow Mosaic Early Learning Performance Standards and state early standards.
  • Communicate regularly with families through home visits and parent conferences.
  • Observe and evaluate children's performance and development.
  • Maintain required individual children's records, including developmental screenings and ongoing assessments.
  • Maintain required classroom written reports and records.
  • Participate in weekly curriculum planning and lesson development.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, families, and students to promote effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in required staff meetings, workshops, and professional development.
  • Stay informed about current trends in early childhood education.
  • Prepare and submit purchase order requisitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure program quality and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • BA or higher in Early Childhood Education and hold a NJDOE Certificate of Eligibility for P-3.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience working in a classroom setting.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development and ability to implement curriculum teaching strategies and assessment methods that support the Head Start Early Learning Framework and state early standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills.
