About the position

The District Data & Accountability Manager at Woburn Public Schools is a senior role responsible for overseeing all aspects of district student data management. This includes integrating special programs and enrollment with the Student Information System (SIS), acting as a liaison between the Student Services and Technology departments, and supervising data collection procedures. The position requires a high level of initiative, confidentiality, and independent judgment, with a focus on developing procedures and training staff.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee procedures for capturing data in the Student Information System.
  • Oversee synchronization of data with Special Programs and Enrollment with SIS.
  • Develop and standardize data collection procedures to ensure accurate state reporting.
  • Provide support and supervision to technology staff on data collection, state reporting, and SIS management.
  • Oversee clerical staff with data collection and SIS needs.
  • Support building leadership and central office with data trends, analysis, and presentations for School Committee.
  • Build reports for building leaders to ensure accurate student data and assist with analysis of data.
  • Support Student Services office with student information reporting and analysis.
  • Provide staff professional development and training as needed.
  • Provide support with data needed for grants and/or data dashboards.
  • Provide technical support including deployment, maintenance and integration of district-supported software services.
  • Support data extracts and integration between multiple systems.
  • Support administration with complex SIS issues (e.g. scheduling, attendance, discipline data).
  • Create documentation of data flows including specific data elements and sync conditions for software integrations.
  • Participate in projects to design, implement, modify and optimize databases and related software.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of schools.
  • Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Expertise with Student Information Systems and Massachusetts DESE state reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Massachusetts special education regulations.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to learn new data processing, visualization, and other related products.
  • Proven written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
