About the position

The District Director of Operations (West) at Destination Pet is responsible for overseeing the operations of Pet and Vet Care centers in the Western Region. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality care and exceptional customer service across all centers, while also driving revenue growth and operational efficiency. The District Director will lead a team, conduct regular center visits, analyze financial performance, and implement strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery and team performance.

Responsibilities

  • Model the mission, vision, culture, and policies of Destination Pet within the team.
  • Ensure all centers provide top quality care and exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct monthly center visits to assess overall success.
  • Monitor day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives to drive revenue.
  • Partner with Center Leadership to manage effective staff scheduling.
  • Collaborate on doctor hiring, retention, support, and compensation.
  • Analyze financial reports and identify revenue growth opportunities.
  • Ensure completion of district quarterly inventory.
  • Reinforce training, safety, and service programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and local labor laws.
  • Conduct weekly calls with district leadership to discuss performance.
  • Implement individual growth plans and management development opportunities.
  • Identify and execute additional revenue-driving initiatives with management teams.
  • Inspect facilities and recommend repairs to maintain safety standards.
  • Assist with safety, emergency, and crisis situations.
  • Resolve customer and staff complaints not handled at the center level.
  • Maintain impeccable facility standards and operational efficiency.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety among team members.
  • Embrace additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a pet fanatic with a passion for animals.
  • 3+ years of multi-unit management experience in a pet, vet, retail, or hospitality environment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends for emergency support.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Attention to detail and a caring demeanor.
  • Proficient in computer applications, especially Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong task prioritization and delegation skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in problem-solving and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Required travel of 50%-75%, including overnight.

  • Experience in veterinary or pet care management.
