About the position

As the District Director of Sales for the Southern Florida Market, you will oversee and direct the sales efforts for multiple communities and products within the district. This role is pivotal in ensuring that occupancy and revenue goals are not only met but exceeded. You will be responsible for fostering a strong sales performance culture across the district, supporting the professional development of community sales associates, and providing coaching related to selling skills, pipeline management, and sales execution. Your leadership will be crucial in managing sales performance, monitoring occupancy trends, and ensuring the execution of sales activities by team members. In this position, you will lead and develop a team of community sales associates and business development professionals, overseeing the creation of business development and lead generation plans. You will also assist in the recruitment and hiring of sales staff, ensuring effective onboarding and monitoring the skill and knowledge growth of new hires. Your role will involve collaborating with the marketing team to develop and modify community marketing plans and budgets, as well as making pricing and incentive recommendations based on local market assessments. You will be expected to regularly assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities of your sales staff, coordinating training and reinforcement to address any gaps. Regular visits to each community within the district will be necessary to partner with on-site sales teams and Executive Directors in executing sales and lead generation programs. This position requires a strong commitment to promoting the company positively and setting an example for excellence in sales and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the sales efforts for multiple communities and products within the district.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Support the professional development of community sales associates and provide coaching related to selling skills, pipeline management, and sales execution.
  • Manage sales performance within the assigned district and monitor occupancy trends.
  • Lead district alignment around competitive positioning and marketing plans.
  • Develop the team of community sales associates and business development professionals within the district.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring of all sales staff in the portfolio of communities.
  • Ensure effective onboarding of new sales hires and monitor their skill and knowledge growth.
  • Oversee completion of the marketing plan and budget for the district.
  • Partner with the marketing team in developing community marketing plans and budgets.
  • Assess local markets and competitive positioning within the assigned district.
  • Monitor sales performance expectations and gaps at the community and district level.
  • Conduct coaching observations of sales team members to evaluate sales behaviors and skills.
  • Visit each community within the district on a scheduled basis to partner with on-site sales teams.
  • Educate and support Clinical Operations and other home office associates about the sales programs.
  • Execute established sales processes, systems, and tools to perform job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 to 10 years of successful sales experience, preferably in senior housing industry, medical or pharmaceutical sales sectors.
  • Experience in sales process, promoting/selling related products and referral development.
  • Knowledge of sales coaching and sales team performance management.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license due to frequent car travel.

Nice-to-haves
