About the position

The District Director of Sales is responsible for overseeing and directing the sales efforts across multiple communities and products within a designated district. This role focuses on achieving and exceeding occupancy and revenue goals while fostering a strong sales performance culture. The director will support the professional development of community sales associates, manage sales performance, and ensure effective execution of sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct sales efforts for multiple communities and products within the district.
  • Meet and exceed occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Support the professional development of community sales associates through coaching.
  • Foster a strong sales performance culture across the district.
  • Monitor occupancy trends and ensure execution of sales activities by team members.
  • Lead district alignment around competitive positioning and marketing plans.
  • Develop and implement district business development and lead generation plans.
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring of all sales staff in the portfolio of communities.
  • Ensure effective onboarding of new sales hires in partnership with Training and Development and Human Resources.
  • Monitor skill and knowledge growth of new hires during onboarding.
  • Oversee completion of the marketing plan and budget for the district.
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop community marketing plans and budgets.
  • Assess local markets and make pricing and incentive recommendations.
  • Monitor sales performance expectations and gaps at the community and district level.
  • Review and analyze sales reporting to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Coach sales team members on appropriate actions in response to performance issues.
  • Assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities of sales staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate regular skill training and reinforcement to address gaps and opportunities.
  • Conduct coaching observations of sales team members to evaluate sales behaviors and skills.
  • Visit each community within the district on a scheduled basis to support sales strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop sales teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess sales performance and market trends.
  • Ability to create and implement effective sales and marketing plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in the senior living or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools.
