About the position

The District Facilities Evening Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security operations during evening hours at the White Plains City School District. This role ensures the safety and security of district buildings and their occupants, supervises security assistants, and collaborates with various stakeholders to maintain a secure learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor security posts during after-hours and special events.
  • Liaise with the district Maintenance Foreperson, Supervising Custodian, and third-party contracted security companies.
  • Manage break schedules for security staff.
  • Report directly to the Facilities Director and assist the Athletic Director as needed.
  • Ensure the safety and security of district buildings by enforcing procedures and regulations.
  • Supervise District Security Assistants and participate in patrolling buildings and parking lots.
  • Enforce the visitor management system to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Inform the Director of Facilities about emergencies, safety hazards, and security issues.
  • Assist in emergency events such as Fire/Evacuation, Lockdown, and Shelter-in-Place.
  • Conduct security inspections of all district facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a closely related field, or completion of an approved post-high school course in security or law enforcement and one year of experience.
  • Compliance with NYS Security Guard registration and training requirements.
  • Skill in word processing software applications.
  • Ability to observe and detect unusual occurrences or behavior.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Sound judgment, tact, and courtesy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in conflict management (1 year preferred).
  • Possession of a Security License.
