About the position

The District Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the VDOT District Supply Program Manager, responsible for customer support and coordination of operations within the district. This role involves overseeing employee performance, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while providing quality service to VDOT.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service to VDOT and coordinate with the District Supply Program Manager (DSPM) and District Asset and Inventory Manager (DAIM).
  • Meet with DSPM and DAIM to assess problems and concerns.
  • Collaborate with all MANCON locations to assist in parts availability and requests.
  • Review and adhere to the Product Group Catalog and Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Research parts procurement and contact vendors for pricing and orders.
  • Monitor and analyze Service Level Reports and ensure compliance with inventory management.
  • Perform Wall to Wall inventories and assist in other districts as necessary.
  • Generate and review various reports using the NAV system and ensure timely completion of supervisor checklists.
  • Conduct monthly site visits and provide 24-hour support to VDOT.

Requirements

  • 5 years of computer experience
  • 5 years of experience in auto parts, heavy-duty truck parts, warehouse, or distribution
  • 5 years of inventory experience
  • 5 years of customer service experience
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license with 2 years of driving experience
  • Obtain and maintain trainer forklift certificate
  • Obtain and maintain P1 or P2 ASE Certification
