About the position

The District/Operations Specialist at Kroger is responsible for assessing and enhancing the operational effectiveness of stores to exceed customer expectations. This role involves serving as a liaison with Retail Operations, analyzing store performance, and making recommendations to improve various operational metrics such as sales, safety, and customer experience. The specialist will also ensure compliance with company policies and federal regulations while promoting the company's core values.

Responsibilities

• Assess each store's ability to exceed customer expectations for shopping ease, service, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory conditions.
• Serve as the subject matter expert and liaison with Retail Operations to provide feedback on operational plans and systems.
• Work with store management to identify opportunities, analyze reports, and recommend improvements to sales, shrink, safety, and customer experience.
• Facilitate meetings and collaborate with committees and peer groups to drive operational success.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues affected by various applications in collaboration with district managers.
• Ensure the effective implementation of division marketing plans and operational initiatives.
• Discuss financial performance and targeted goals with district managers and store leaders.
• Review operational measures with store leaders and district managers to ensure compliance and performance standards are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of experience as an assistant store leader or similar role.
• Strong analytical, conflict management, and problem resolution skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and software troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal relationship-building skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as an ELMS manager or expense and sustainability manager.
• Training curriculum facilitation certifications.
