About the position

The District Sales Manager is a pivotal role within EssilorLuxottica, responsible for leading, managing, and ensuring the profitability of a designated sales district. This position requires a strategic approach to achieve established sales goals for assigned Top Accounts while effectively managing an individual book of business. The District Sales Manager will mentor and coach Account Executives, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and training to succeed. This role involves close collaboration with lab management and customer service teams to guarantee customer satisfaction and drive sales performance. The ideal candidate will reside near a major airport within the district, as the position entails significant travel, estimated at 50-60%, including overnight stays. In this role, the District Sales Manager will be tasked with achieving district revenue targets and key product sales forecasts. They will develop individual and team objectives aligned with the business plans of EssilorLuxottica. A deep understanding of the district's challenges and opportunities is essential for managing and growing the individual book of business. Regular visits to accounts within the book of business will be executed quarterly to maintain strong relationships and monitor market changes. The District Sales Manager will lead by example, demonstrating high levels of customer service and representing the district at key customer events to foster loyalty. They will provide comprehensive reports utilizing Salesforce, QLIK, and data analysis to track performance and inform strategy. Additionally, the role involves recruiting, hiring, training, and developing top talent for the Account Executive positions, ensuring a strong team capable of meeting sales goals. The District Sales Manager will also be responsible for creating a safe work environment and performing other duties as assigned by the Region Director or VP of Sales.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves district revenue and key products' sales forecast
  • Develops individual and team objectives based on the business plans of ELOA
  • Manages and grows individual book of business of top accounts
  • Develops and executes regular call cycle to visit doors within book of business quarterly
  • Ensures Account Executives (AE) are performing necessary territory and account planning activities to achieve district sales goals
  • Coaches, develops and provides sales support to AEs
  • Leads by example in demonstrating high levels of customer service through direct district customer involvement
  • Focuses AE on monitoring changes in the market and customer base
  • Represents the District at key customer events and builds customer loyalty
  • Provides district reports through a thorough knowledge of Salesforce, QLIK, and data analysis
  • Responsible for growing and developing his/her team in his/her business unit through effective communication in the PPR process, ride-withs and individual one-on-one coaching
  • Provides continuous feedback on AE performance
  • Assists the AE with building account business plans
  • Coaches the AE on selling process and ensures they use the process to achieve district sales goals
  • Collaborates, develops and implements plans to effectively leverage all lab distribution channels to ensure business objectives are accomplished
  • Meets with key Lab Channel, Brand Specialist, and Sales Activation constituents to develop and maintain a high level of communication and teamwork within the District and the Region
  • Effectively communicates, supervises and implements all Essilor Sales and Marketing Plan objectives
  • Successfully recruits, hires, trains and develops the best talent for the AE position
  • Completes reports and other administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of successful outside sales experience required
  • Proven leadership, management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, general pc navigation, contact management system and sales analytical tools)
