About the position

The District Sales Manager oversees a team of Territory Managers in the selling of US Foods' products and services. This role focuses on driving revenue generation through effective coaching, mentoring, and training of the team, while also managing account acquisition and development within a specified district. The manager is responsible for achieving sales objectives, developing long-term sales plans, and ensuring high-quality lead generation and customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a group of Territory Managers (TMs) in selling the Company's products and services.
  • Direct TMs in closing opportunities and acquiring new accounts.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to TMs to achieve sales objectives.
  • Lead TMs to achieve Division sales and penetration objectives.
  • Submit and administer annual street sales operating plan and budget.
  • Assist TMs in warming leads and closing sales.
  • Coordinate product cuttings and demonstrations for customers.
  • Develop sales and marketing strategies and proposals for customers.
  • Communicate sales data to contribute to product/service planning.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor new hires and existing TMs.
  • Conduct periodic Customer Business Reviews to identify customer needs.
  • Ensure the sales organization is appropriately staffed and managed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of five years of foodservice sales experience required.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office products.

  • Familiarity with e-commerce and technology solutions in foodservice.
