About the position

The District Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and business development efforts for traffic detection and sensor solutions across the West Texas region. This role is ideal for a sales professional passionate about growth in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology space, who can bridge technical and sales functions and embrace innovative solutions to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and establish strategic relationships with new and existing customers, focusing on new business opportunities.
  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations to customers, articulating the unique features and benefits of offerings.
  • Address inquiries regarding product features, usage, and performance, managing sales negotiations as needed.
  • Identify and qualify prospects, schedule appointments, conduct effective sales calls, and manage the sales cycle through to closing in Salesforce.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts to drive revenue.
  • Work closely with solutions engineering and software teams to drive adoption of the Iteris platform and suite of solutions.
  • Support the alignment of sales efforts with technical requirements to ensure successful deployment and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and support RFP opportunities, developing competitive proposals in collaboration with solutions engineering and bid response team.
  • Conduct independent sales calls to end-user accounts, driving business growth within the designated region.
  • Actively engage in industry events, regional meetings, trade shows, and use social media to increase market visibility.
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) to document sales activities, manage the sales pipeline, and ensure territory coverage.
  • Participate in company sales meetings and training sessions, continuously enhancing product knowledge and market awareness.
  • Contribute to campaigns and new product initiatives, learning about updates and changes in industry requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Business Administration, Sales, Traffic Management, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years in Sales or business development, ideally within a technology-driven industry, with a background in traffic management solutions, design and engineering, connected operations, or connected infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with direct and indirect sales processes.
  • Proficient with Salesforce CRM (preferred) and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain strategic relationships.
  • Comfort and capability with using CRM and other technology tools to streamline and document sales activities.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing business opportunities.
