About the position

The District Sales Manager for the Southwest region (Houston/Dallas, TX) at Volvo Group is responsible for driving sales and market share growth for the Volvo Truck brand. This role involves managing dealer relationships, supporting sales teams, and implementing strategies to achieve sales targets in new truck sales, full-service lease, rental, and contract maintenance services. The position requires a strong focus on dealer performance, inventory management, and customer engagement to ensure the success of the Volvo Truck brand in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage dealer market share development, volume, pricing, and product mix.
  • Provide sales and operational support to dealer lease sales management teams.
  • Implement, manage, and monitor sales and leasing activity using Salesforce.
  • Track dealer's stock inventory levels to meet business plans and market demands.
  • Work with dealer principal and sales management to increase sales and leasing penetration.
  • Ensure dealer participation in company-sponsored sales programs.
  • Develop dealer's sales skills and promote the selling value of products.
  • Engage with regional counterparts for team selling approaches.
  • Identify and propose products, prices, and credit terms to customers.
  • Develop and present sales proposals to new prospects.
  • Manage retail sales assistance process and sales tools.
  • Communicate dealer progress and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Serve as the primary interface between Commercial and assigned franchise dealers.
  • Budget responsibility in conjunction with the approved business plan.
  • Ensure effective use of prospecting tools by dealers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in field or inside sales in the heavy truck industry or related industry.
  • Experience in structuring finance transactions.
  • Business acumen and relationship building skills.
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM tools.
  • Understanding of Full-Service Lease, Daily Rental, and Contract Maintenance business.
  • Ability to utilize market data for strategy development.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of sales and leasing policies at wholesale and retail levels.
  • Complete knowledge of finance instruments and dealer sales contracts.
  • Familiarity with state laws and DMV regulations.
  • Extensive regular travel required.
