About the position

The District Sales Manager at GRUMA is responsible for overseeing customer management and administrative activities within the New Haven, CT region. This role focuses on achieving customer service expectations and regional objectives by establishing effective relationships with customers and independent distributors, coordinating sales activities, and maintaining sales accounts. The position also involves tracking product performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the development of sales plans.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships and administrative activities in the assigned district.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and independent distributors.
  • Coordinate sales activities across multiple functions.
  • Maintain and develop sales accounts to meet targets.
  • Provide input for the development of sales plans.
  • Track product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and AIB standards in warehouse areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • 2 - 5 years of sales management experience, preferably in DSD/Route Sales.
  • Experience in route sales in the grocery industry is preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and influence others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of DSD systems.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
