About the position

The District Sales Manager is responsible for supervising the sales staff within their district, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and profitability. This role involves developing and educating the sales team, managing customer relationships, and participating in the establishment of the region's sales plan. The position emphasizes a safe and inclusive working environment while supporting the company's mission to assist independent restaurant owners.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Develops and educates sales staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and company policies through monthly sales meetings.
  • Attains targeted sales as determined by business goals and operates within budgetary guidelines.
  • Demonstrates awareness of customer needs and establishes policies to effectively meet those needs.
  • Develops interpersonal relationships that encourage openness, candor, and trust internally and externally.
  • Provides informative and professional assistance when working with the public, customers, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Participates in industry organization monthly meetings and develops major account presentations.
  • Formulates and analyzes information on competition and attends industry shows and events.
  • Interacts with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely, and quality manner, ensuring questions are answered accurately.
  • Manages customer complaints, issues, and emergencies.
  • Establishes and monitors major account prospect lists and processes customer rebates and incentives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
  • Foodservice sales and/or supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or related area
  • 6-10 years of foodservice sales supervisory or management experience
  • Reside in the Western suburbs
