About the position
The District Substitute Teacher at South Lake High School is responsible for facilitating student learning in the absence of regular teachers. This role requires creating a safe and caring learning environment, implementing the curriculum, and maintaining communication with students, parents, and staff. The position is available for both part-time and full-time assignments, with a focus on supporting the educational needs of students across various grade levels.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the learning of students
- Understand and implement the curriculum with fidelity
- Help select materials, supplies, and equipment
- Work with grade level teachers
- Work with parents of students
- Assess students and keep records of student learning and growth
- Coordinate with other teachers in the district or building
- Participate in professional development as required
- Perform other duties as assigned, including substitute teaching at different grade levels and/or district buildings.
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- At least 60 semester hours of satisfactory credit from an accredited college or university
- Teacher Certification preferred
- Evidence of computer efficiency
- Strong relationship skills with children
- Demonstrated organization skills
- Excellent public relations skills, including courtesy, tact, and strong communication/language skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in teaching
- Valid Teaching Certification license
