About the position

The District Support Pharmacist at CVS Health plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and safety while managing pharmacy operations. This part-time position involves leading pharmacy support staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering exceptional customer service. The pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of pharmacy management, including patient safety, quality assurance, and financial profitability, while fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations including patient safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure quality assurance and customer service standards are met.
  • Motivate and develop Pharmacy Support Staff by balancing assignments to maximize strengths and address development opportunities.
  • Identify business opportunities and contribute to solutions that drive growth and improve performance.
  • Implement solutions to achieve specified goals and adapt to changes in the healthcare environment.
  • Promote a team culture that emphasizes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm. D) preferred.
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state of employment; additional licenses may be required for multi-state coverage.
  • 1-5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
  • Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as needed.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
