About the position

The Division Accounting Manager position at Parker Hannifin Corporation involves overseeing various accounting functions that support both corporate and operational units. The position requires a proactive approach to streamline operations and enhance accuracy in financial reporting. In this role, the Division Accounting Manager will coach team members, resolve issues, and act as a liaison between direct reports and upper management. Key responsibilities include managing the coordination and audit/review of the monthly closing process, preparing monthly reports and business analyses, and completing corporate requirements for financial packages and surveys. The manager will also audit and review various balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses, ensuring that all cost and accounting systems adhere to corporate standards. Additionally, the Division Accounting Manager will maintain a high level of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction, and productivity among team members. Collaboration with various department managers is essential to complete the annual budget and planning process, as well as to support Division Lean and Lean Accounting initiatives. The role may also include other duties as assigned, making it a dynamic position within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching team members and resolving issues while serving as a link between direct reports and upper management.
  • Managing the coordination and audit/review of the monthly closing process.
  • Preparing monthly reports and business analysis as required.
  • Completing corporate requirements for financial packages and surveys.
  • Auditing and reviewing various balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Ensuring all cost and other accounting systems meet corporate guidelines.
  • Maintaining the highest degree of customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction, and people productivity.
  • Working with various department managers to complete the annual budget & planning process.
  • Supporting Division Lean and Lean Accounting initiatives.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 6-8+ years' experience in accounting/finance required.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word).
  • Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent resident.
