The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls surrounding various processes including sales, purchasing, construction, land development, accounts payable, job starts, and the closing process. This role requires a thorough review for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, ensuring that all financial practices align with corporate standards. The Division CFO will maintain ultimate responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial information to the Division President and Region/Corporate. This includes the preparation of a five-year business plan and ensuring adherence to corporate policies and procedures as outlined in the corporate operations manual. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the division's homebuilding operations, interacting with all departments to assess the efficiency of current policies and their impact on the division's overall well-being. In addition, the Division CFO will ensure that all division personnel are adequately trained in the JD Edwards system and that efficient policies and procedures, along with proper internal controls, are in place. The accuracy of the division's financial reporting processes is paramount, requiring that the division's books are prepared and closed within the monthly guidelines set by the corporate office. The financial statements must accurately reflect the division's operations, and all potential land deals must meet corporate, regional, and division requirements. The role also involves monitoring development and S&B budgets, ensuring adequate backup for these amounts, and investigating any subsequent changes. Conducting business in a professional and ethical manner is essential to serve customers and enhance the company's goodwill and profitability. The Division CFO will analyze, improve, and implement new policies and procedures that keep pace with technological advancements and promote more efficient operations. This position requires overnight travel and supervisory responsibilities over two or more employees.
