D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Division CFO to oversee financial operations within the Albuquerque division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining internal controls surrounding various processes including sales, purchasing, construction, land development, accounts payable, job starts, and the closing process. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and operations within the division. The Division CFO will maintain ultimate responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial information to the Division President and Region/Corporate. This includes the preparation of a comprehensive five-year business plan and ensuring adherence to corporate policies and procedures as outlined in the corporate operations manual. The role requires oversight of all aspects of the division's homebuilding operations, with the authority to interact with all departments to assess the efficiency of current policies and their alignment with the division's goals. In addition, the Division CFO will ensure that all division personnel are adequately trained in the JD Edwards system and that efficient policies and procedures, along with proper internal controls, are in place. The accuracy of the division's financial reporting processes is paramount, and the CFO will ensure that the division's books are prepared and closed within the monthly guidelines established by the corporate office. The role also involves monitoring land deals to ensure they meet corporate, regional, and division requirements, as well as overseeing development and S&B budgets to ensure adequate backup for financial amounts and investigating any subsequent changes. The Division CFO is expected to conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner, serving customers and enhancing the company's goodwill and profitability. The position requires the ability to travel overnight as needed and to ensure that all personnel understand the company's philosophy regarding financial prudence. The CFO will also analyze, improve, and implement new policies and procedures that leverage technology for more efficient operations.
