About the position

The Division Director for Advanced Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Calibration at Idaho National Laboratory is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team within Facilities & Site Services. This role involves managing complex departments, establishing operational policies, and ensuring effective operations that significantly impact the organization. The director will oversee budget management, participate in strategic development, and interact with various levels of management to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex departments or divisions with multiple functional disciplines/occupations.
  • Develop and establish operational policies within the area managed.
  • Participate in strategy development for corporate function.
  • Manage activities through second or third level managers.
  • Oversee professional employees and subordinate managers from multiple disciplines.
  • Ensure effective operation of activities of major significance to the organization.
  • Manage complex programs that have a critical impact on the directorate or laboratory.
  • Accountable for division budget with far-reaching impact on the business segment.
  • Set and attain realistic budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Participate in the development of overall objectives and long-term goals of the division and directorate.
  • Establish and administer operational objectives, policies, procedures, and work plans, delegating assignments to subordinates.
  • Develop, modify, and execute company policies affecting immediate operations and potentially companywide effects.
  • Interact regularly with lower and/or senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, departments, and/or customers.
  • Apply knowledge to influence stakeholders on desired departmental outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience OR Master's degree and 8 years of experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'L' clearance, requiring US Citizenship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary workforce, including multiple levels of management.
  • Experience with engineered drawings and manufacturing processes.
