This position is for an entry-level HR professional within the Division of Community Supervision in Forsyth County, NC, focusing on the full life cycle of recruitment. The role involves various responsibilities including posting job openings, screening applications, conducting interviews, and managing salary administration. The HR Tech I / Talent Acquisition Specialist will assist staff in compliance with federal and state guidelines related to health insurance, retirement programs, and various types of leave such as FMLA and Workers' Compensation. The position requires strong decision-making skills, the ability to multi-task, and the capability to prioritize work independently while ensuring customer satisfaction and confidentiality. As part of the Talent Acquisition team, the specialist will collaborate with hiring managers to develop tailored recruitment strategies and job postings. Responsibilities also include screening employment applications to identify the most qualified candidates, creating interview and hiring packages, determining hiring rates within established salary guidelines, and ensuring that all required documentation is complete. The specialist will also participate in hiring events and track the placement of staff. Additionally, the role includes conducting new hire orientations, providing onboarding documents, and acting as a Health Benefits Representative for employees within the Division office. The position serves as the first point of contact for administrative staff and managers regarding time administration and payroll questions. The specialist will interpret and apply personnel policies and departmental regulations to address various HR-related issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, and familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking software is preferred but not mandatory. This is a full-time position with a standard workweek of 40 hours, offering benefits including eligibility for a state pension.
