About the position

The Division Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll process for both union and non-union employees across multiple states. This role involves managing payroll administration, ensuring compliance with regulations, facilitating accurate time capture, and providing exceptional customer service to employees and management. The manager will also train the payroll team and maintain accurate employee records using various software systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly pay cycles for union and non-union employees across multiple states.
• Manage and maintain accurate employee records, including new hire setup and pay adjustments.
• Oversee compliance and audit requirements related to payroll programs.
• Facilitate accurate time capture and monitor employee vacation and PTO eligibility.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll data.
• Become the in-house expert for payroll policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain training materials for the payroll team.
• Provide exceptional customer service to employees and supervisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred, with a minimum of an Associate's degree required.
• 3-5 years of payroll experience, particularly with union payrolls.
• Experience in managing multi-state payroll and off-cycle check processing.
• Knowledge of compliance regulations related to payroll.
• Proven leadership experience in a supervisory role.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Dayforce or similar payroll systems.
• Familiarity with benefits administration.
• Experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
