About the position

The Divisional Manager of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) is a pivotal role within the New York City Transit (NYCT) organization, specifically under the Department of Subways. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and control of multiple EAM projects. The incumbent will ensure that all projects align with the overarching goals and commitments of the Subways EAM program. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of project management principles and the ability to lead teams effectively through the various stages of project lifecycles. In this capacity, the Divisional Manager will lead the planning and management of projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget. The role involves coordinating and providing direction to project teams, acting as a liaison between various internal EAM groups, including Quality Assurance, Change Management, and the Support Center. The manager will also oversee the Divisional Service Team, which is responsible for prioritizing requests, incidents, and problems, as well as providing input for system functionality enhancements and reports. Additionally, the Divisional Manager will be tasked with the planning and delivery of training programs, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively. The position also involves the creation, enrichment, analysis, and preparation of divisional data, which is crucial for informed decision-making. The manager will coordinate with stakeholders to elicit support and report on project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning and management of projects through their lifecycles.
  • Coordinates and provides direction to the project teams and serves as a liaison between internal EAM groups such as Quality Assurance, Change Management and Support Center.
  • Directs the Divisional Service Team responsible for divisional prioritization of requests, incidents and problems, divisional input for design of system functionality enhancements and reports, acceptance of configuration changes, new application features, and reports.
  • Plans and delivers training programs for team members.
  • Creates, enriches, analyzes, and prepares divisional data for decision-making.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to elicit support and report on project progress.

Requirements

  • A Baccalaureate in business administration, finance, computer science, marketing, engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in relevant fields, with at least five (5) years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
  • Proven experience in managing a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proven experience delivering projects on time and on budget, with experience working with executive leadership to advance projects at NYCT.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of NYCT rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the transportation sector, particularly within public transit organizations.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
