About the position

The Divisional Purchasing Manager for Chartwells K12 is responsible for executing and maintaining compliant purchasing processes and procedures while providing operational support within a specified division. This remote position requires strong leadership to develop strategic purchasing initiatives and assist in financial planning to support the company's objectives. The role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure product compliance and quality, as well as managing supplier relationships and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse divisional resource team including Operations, Culinary, Marketing, Nutrition, and Finance teams to achieve business goals.
  • Manage product compliance, communicate opportunities, and implement change within a specified division.
  • Collaborate with Finance to leverage metrics and scorecards to aid unit level performance vs. KPI.
  • Understand contracts supply chain solutions and collaborate with Foodbuy and culinary leaders to drive optimization opportunities at a unit level.
  • Work directly with stakeholders on managing compliance toward high-value products and distributor compliance via Approved Product Lists, Approved Distributor Lists, Leakage and P-Card Reports.
  • Act as liaison between distribution centers and schools to manage delivery issues.
  • Communicate with key team and management associates on product requests, manage slow and dead inventory and auto shipments.
  • Support and update Managed Order Guides (MOG's) within a specified division.
  • Monitor product auto shipments to ensure products received are consistent with orders placed.
  • Monitor and convey known supplier issues with Foodbuy and region to effectively manage resolution.
  • Compile and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly communications and reports as needed.
  • Support annual trainings on USDA commodity diversion strategy and present region with best financial and commodity product opportunities.
  • Provide remote and onsite training to operators with direct purchasing responsibilities within an assigned division.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, foodservice, supply chain, or equivalent job experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract food service is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to develop and present information to a diverse group of key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and analytical skills.
