About the position

The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a DJJ Operations Coordinator, a professional position in the Office of Youth and Family Advocacy. This role is responsible for assisting families in addressing youth behaviors that hinder family stability and youth success. The Hope Navigator provides impactful case management to address barriers and lead to self-sufficiency, connecting families and youth with care partners and service providers to meet their unique needs. The position requires excellent customer service, a family-centric approach to case management, and the ability to multi-task effectively using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive family-centered assessments to identify barriers impacting family stability.
  • Provide referrals to community resources based on needs assessments and goals set in the pathway plan.
  • Assist families in identifying and applying for appropriate benefits and services.
  • Maintain frequent communication with families, reassessing needs and updating care plans as necessary.
  • Act as a navigator for families regarding available program services and methods to attain family stability.
  • Assist with hurricane and disaster recovery efforts in affected areas.
  • Work extended hours in disaster conditions and travel to impacted areas as needed.
  • Identify and maintain knowledge of available community resources to meet individual family needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with clearance to operate a state vehicle.
