About the position
The Billing Support Specialist is responsible for managing and streamlining patient orders related to DME oxygen records. This role involves ensuring that orders are appropriately tasked across various systems to facilitate timely processing and billing, particularly for Medicare. The specialist will also be involved in obtaining and reviewing medical records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected to support billing processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure orders are tasked appropriately between different systems.
- Streamline patient orders to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Call providers for medical records and obtain necessary documentation.
- Review records for accuracy and completeness.
- Request necessary documentation such as chart notes, prescription requests, and medical records for billing Medicare.
Requirements
- Experience with DME oxygen records is a must.
- Ability to take direction and communicate effectively with customers and employees at all levels.
- Attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with hospital billing and medical billing processes.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Brightree and Epic.
