About the position

The DMV Customer Service Center Assistant Manager in Williamsburg is responsible for assisting the manager in supervising staff and ensuring effective service delivery in various DMV operations. This role includes overseeing human resource functions, financial operations, and maintaining safety and security within the center. The assistant manager will also assume the manager's responsibilities in their absence, ensuring compliance with DMV policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager in supervising staff and service delivery in the DMV Customer Service Center.
  • Coordinate and supervise DMV programs and services in the assigned center.
  • Manage human resource functions, facilities, service, and financial operations.
  • Ensure safety and security of DMV employees, assets, and information.
  • Assume the duties of the CSC Manager in their absence.
  • Administer programs and services in accordance with statutory and administrative requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of supervisory practices.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Knowledge of organization management principles and practices for service operations.
  • Working knowledge of administrative principles related to budgetary control and facilities management.
  • Experience with cash management and credit card processing.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex statutes and regulations.

  • Ability to analyze data and make operational recommendations.
  • Experience in managing and accounting for revenues and expenditures.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and coach operational staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak workload periods.
