About the position

ALTA IT Services is seeking a Financial Management Analyst to join our team in a client-facing role. This position is crucial for managing and optimizing financial processes within the Department of Defense (DoD) financial management team. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in financial management tools such as SAP-FM, Qlik, Oracle, and Power BI to provide tailored solutions that meet the financial management needs of our clients and stakeholders. The role requires a strong understanding of financial data analysis, reporting, and compliance with regulations, ensuring that all financial processes are efficient and effective. As a Financial Management Analyst, you will collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific financial management requirements. You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of financial systems to analyze data, identify trends, and create visually compelling reports and dashboards that facilitate informed decision-making. Your responsibilities will also include performing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities from various feeder systems, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of financial data. In addition to technical skills, the role demands strong analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills. You will conduct thorough financial analyses, reconciliations, and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and identify potential areas for improvement. Your insights and recommendations will be invaluable to clients as you provide financial advisory services based on your expert analysis. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in financial management and technology will be essential to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their financial management needs and provide tailored solutions to address their requirements.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of SAP-FM, Qlik, Oracle, and Power BI to analyze financial data, identify trends, and create visually compelling reports and dashboards.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities from various feeder systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, providing guidance and support to end-users.
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses, reconciliations, and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Offer financial advisory services to clients, providing insights and recommendations based on expert analysis.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in financial management and technology, providing innovative ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Secret clearance is required; TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Financial Management Analyst, within DoD Headquarters or DoD Components.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Management Analyst, preferably within the DoD or government sector.
  • Deep knowledge of accounting, with experience in general ledgers, reconciliations, and experience with DoD financial systems.
  • Experience working with transaction details in government financial accounting systems.
  • Experience interpreting financial reports, performing financial statement analysis, and providing recommendations.
  • High level of proficiency in SAP-FM, Qlik, Oracle, and Power BI, with a track record of leveraging these tools to drive meaningful insights and support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Qlik/Qlik Sense, QVD/QlikView, and Qlik Production Application Standards (QPAS) is a significant plus.
  • Recent DoD or IC-related experience.
  • Previous experience with Advana is a plus.
