About the position

The Full-time Kubernetes Engineer will be responsible for deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, particularly in a VMware Tanzu environment. This role requires a strong background in DevSecOps practices, containerization, and cloud platforms, with a focus on ensuring security and efficiency in the deployment processes. The engineer will work closely with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code principles to enhance the development and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters, specifically in a VMware Tanzu environment.
• Implement DevSecOps practices within containerized and cloud platforms.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and ensure efficient software deployment processes.
• Utilize infrastructure as code (IaC) principles to automate deployment and management tasks.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) is mandatory.
• 6 or more years of directly related IT experience is required.
• 7 years of general work experience is necessary.
• 3 or more years of experience working with containerized and/or cloud platforms and implementing DevSecOps practices is essential.
• 2 or more years of experience deploying and maintaining VMware Tanzu clusters is required.
• Experience with containerization and microservices is necessary.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 5 years of DevSecOps work experience is desired.
• Experience implementing CI/CD deployment pipelines for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience re-factoring software projects for integration in a larger ecosystem of applications is beneficial.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps in a container ecosystem is preferred.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) platforms, like Terraform and Ansible is a plus.
• Experience in Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration Environments is desirable.
