About the position

The DoD SkillBridge Heavy Equipment Service Technician internship at Komatsu is designed for transitioning active duty service members. This program offers hands-on training in servicing electric drive trucks, electric shovels, and other construction/mining equipment, with the potential for full-time employment upon completion. Interns will gain valuable skills in equipment maintenance, instrumentation, control systems, machining, and welding.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair Komatsu construction and mining equipment including electric drive trucks and electric shovels.
• Receive training on equipment maintenance and instrumentation and control systems.
• Participate in on-the-job training as part of the internship program.

Requirements

• Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember.
• Must be separating from the Military in 8-12 months.
• Must be able to complete up to a maximum of 120 days SkillBridge internship.
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week.
• Willingness to learn and accept developmental feedback.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in maintenance and/or skilled trades such as electrician, machinist, or welder.
