About the position

The Educational Diagnostician position at Logan Correctional Center involves screening incoming students' Offender 360 information to assess the need for standardized achievement testing. The role includes administering and scoring assessments, maintaining student records, and ensuring compliance with Department of Corrections procedures. The ideal candidate will contribute to the educational programming for individuals in custody, supporting their academic progress and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Screen incoming students' Offender 360 information to determine the necessity of standardized achievement testing.
  • Administer and score student assessments according to established procedures.
  • Assist with the correlation of records for individuals in custody and current students in programming.
  • Maintain and keep student records up to date in accordance with Department of Corrections procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field with coursework in diagnostic evaluation.
  • At least two years of professional experience in educational testing administration techniques.
  • At least two years of professional experience working with educational programs and services.
  • At least two years of professional experience following educational test guidelines and procedures.
  • At least one year of professional experience interpreting educational data and explaining educational test results.
  • At least two years of professional experience using a computer and standardized software for maintaining student reports and records.
  • At least one year of professional experience safeguarding confidential information regarding student records and standardized test materials.
  • At least one year of professional experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with individuals in custody or similar populations.
