About the position
The Dock Hand at Carefree Boat Club is responsible for ensuring a positive experience for members while they are on the dock. This role involves assisting members with their boats, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the vessels, and managing reservations. The position requires a strong focus on customer service and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Be attentive to members while they are on the dock to enhance their experience and potentially earn tips.
- Understand and manage the reservation system effectively.
- Assist members in loading and transporting their belongings to and from their boats.
- Record members' gas usage accurately.
- Inspect boats for damages after members return them.
- Clean and maintain boats, including spraying down the exterior, flushing engines, scrubbing decks, and cleaning dashboards and cupholders.
- Transport boats to gas docks for refueling.
- Work outdoors in sun and heat for extended periods, while also having access to an air-conditioned office and free water bottles.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Entry-level position, no prior experience required.
Nice-to-haves
- Boat handling experience preferred.
