As a Dock Supervisor at Estes Express Lines, you will report directly to the Operations Manager, Assistant Terminal Manager, or Terminal Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to lead, guide, and direct dock employees, ensuring that targets are set and performance is monitored. You will be accountable for managing an efficient, clean, and safe Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) operation, which includes dock planning and scheduling. It is essential to enforce compliance with all company policies, safety rules, and government regulations. You will also be involved in the hiring and termination processes, making recommendations as necessary. In this role, you will administer and carry out assigned portions of the Terminal Business plan as set forth by the Terminal Manager. Meeting all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) assigned to you will be a critical aspect of your job. You will utilize all company enhancement tools and processes daily, reviewing and revising schedules to increase efficiencies and reduce costs. Additionally, you will be responsible for the assignment and movement of equipment, such as trailers and tractors, in collaboration with other supervisors and management. Effective communication with customers via phone, fax, or email is crucial, as is overseeing all paperwork associated with the dock to ensure it is handled timely and correctly by employees.
