About the position
Central Transport, a leading Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) transportation carrier, is looking for dedicated Dock Workers to join our team at our Memphis, TN facility. As a Dock Worker, you will play a vital role in the efficient handling and loading of freight, ensuring that operations run smoothly and effectively. This position is part-time, with a starting pay of $19.50 per hour, and involves working primarily during the night shift, starting at 10 PM from Monday to Friday. In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and staging skids and customer freight efficiently. You will build loads using freight tools to prepare multiple trailers for departure and ensure accurate freight inventory through the use of handheld scanning technology. Coordination of the correct and efficient loading of trailers is essential, and you will spend approximately 90% of your time operating a forklift. Additionally, you will be tasked with recouping and repairing pallets and freight as necessary, while maintaining cleanliness in dock platforms, aprons, trailers, and the yard. To succeed in this position, you must have previous experience operating forklifts and be capable of handling freight duties using a manual pallet jack or forklift. A strong ability to follow instructions, whether working independently or as part of a team, is crucial. We are looking for individuals with a stable work history, reliability, and the ability to pass a drug screening, physical examination, and background check. A driver's license is highly preferred, and reliable transportation is a must.

Requirements
