About The Position

The Dock Worker is responsible for the proper loading and unloading of freight using various equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. This role requires accurate recording of freight conditions, conducting equipment inspections, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The position demands physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Prior operation of a forklift or forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to push or pull a loaded pallet jack or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, twist, and turn as required by the job.
• Dependable and able to work all shifts, including overtime and weekends.
• Ability to lift approximately 70 lbs. or more as required.

• Capability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Strap, brace, and pad freight to prevent damage during transport.
• Accurately record the condition of freight upon arrival at the terminal.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of dock equipment.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with company policies.
