The Docketing Technician position at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California involves performing essential docketing duties, including digitization of records, maintaining automated databases, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can serve as a subject matter expert in docketing processes and assist in training other employees. Responsibilities

• Perform digitization of paper records in compliance with appropriate rules and procedures.
• Serve as a source of procedural and systemic information on all aspects of the docketing function.
• Function as the docketing system subject matter expert and train other employees on related processes and procedures.
• Research, input, maintain, and extract data from automated docketing databases and systems from initial referral to case file closure.
• Provide guidance and assistance in managing electronic records and case management procedures.
• Ensure case records comply with the Federal Records Act, regulations, policies, and procedures, taking corrective action for records out of compliance.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level; or four years of education above the high school level; or a combination of both specialized experience and education.
• Specialized experience defined as performing data entry into electronic file and case tracking systems, assisting with file reviews, and maintaining filing systems.
• Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with legal terminology and litigation processes.
• Familiarity with automated software for producing legal reports and documents.
