About the position

The Docketing Technician (Office Automation) position at the U.S. Attorneys Office involves performing docketing and developing complex legal reports using computerized case tracking and record-keeping systems. The role serves as a subject matter expert on docketing systems, providing procedural information and training to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) and legal support staff. The technician will manage litigation data from initial referral to final disposition, ensuring comprehensive data for resource planning and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a subject matter expert on docketing systems and train other employees on related processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and extract data from automated docketing databases and systems.
  • Provide legal support services to AUSAs.
  • Produce a variety of written documents and materials using office automation applications.
  • Handle increasingly complex assignments as training and experience progress.

Requirements

  • Must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level, including advanced automation techniques to extract legal data from databases and knowledge of legal terminology and litigation processes.
